We can custom-make a pizza peel from a variety of woods. The photos with this posting provide several examples. We have made pizza peels in curly maple and walnut, hickory and walnut, hickory and blood wood, hickory and canary wood, cherry and hickory, and many other combinations.
Pizza peels can be made to the size you specify. Typically we've made the pizza peels 10" x 22"; 12" x 22" or 14" x 23". Regardless of overall size, each board is either 5/8" thickness or 1/2" - depending on the overall size and weight of the wood. We want the pizza peel to be comfortable to hold with one hand so that you're able to scoop your bread or pizza out of the oven. The board will taper at the lower 3"-4" edge of the board (to enable you to slide it under a pizza or bread).
Our pizza peels are individually drawn, cut, hand-planed, sanded, and finished. We do not mass-produce our pizza peels nor do we use a "jig" to make every board exactly the same. We like handcrafted and handmade craftsmanship so that each pizza peel is unique.
Pizza Peels can be custom-ordered to your specifications for wood type and size. Please note that wood will vary in grain from the boards photographed (no two pieces of wood are alike).

The base (or starting) price is $75 (for 10"x22") and may vary depending on size, type of wood, and if the board is branded with a name or logo. Exotic woods (blood wood, canary wood) are considerably more expensive than domestic woods (cherry, walnut, hickory, maple).
